The Editorial Board shall uphold standards of high quality in evaluating manuscripts for the Bulletin. Actions of the Editorial Board shall be reviewed by the Communications & Publicity Committee and referred to the Administrative Board. Goals for 2016-2018:
  1. To develop strategies to increase members’ understanding of the purpose, processes, and use of the Bulletin: journal and magazine
  2. To collaborate with other committees and boards of DKG to increase communication and encourage submissions to the journal and collegial magazine
  3. To work with HQ to find ways to improve the marketing and archiving process of the Bulletin on the website  
  4. To explore accessibility to the Bulletin
  5. To refine use of GTM, Dropbox, and interactive rubrics
  6. To monitor response to calls for submissions
  7. To develop a webinar regarding the submission process for publications
  8. To investigate alternative submission processes
  9. To propose amendments to simplify DKG governing documents relative to the Bulletin

  • What is the difference between the Bulletin: Journal and the Bulletin: Collegial Exchange?
    Basically, the journal includes research-based articles and the collegial magazine focuses on practical and inspirational material. An explanation of the differences can be found above in the document titled The DKG Bulletin: A New 2-Format Publication. A more detailed explanation of submission categories for each type of issue can be found in the Submission Grids above.
  • Where do I submit my article?
    Submit articles in Word format (not pdf) to bulletin@dkg.org. Full submission directions are available in each issue of the journal format.
  • What are the deadlines for submissions?
    Deadlines are printed in each issue and can be found to the left .
  • Is the Bulletin peer-reviewed?
    Yes. All articles are reviewed by the editorial board, which consists of doctoral level educators. If you need information regarding the publication’s credentials, the editor will provide same.
  • Will I receive feedback on my submission?
    You should receive acknowledgement of the submission within two weeks at the latest. This acknowledgement will assign you a review number and explain the overall process. When the review by the editorial board is complete, you will receive feedback from the editor that includes comments from individual editorial board members. If your article is accepted for continued consideration, the editor will work with you to bring it to publication.
  • Where can I learn more about writing for publication?
    The editorial board regularly provides workshops at DKG conferences and conventions. A copy of the Writing for Publication Web Posting PowerPoint can be found above.
