Constitution Committee
Goals
- To update the International Standing Rules with the 2008 amendments adopted at convention, and to publish and distribute an addendum.
- To make a recommendation for the revision of the Constitution and International Standing Rules.
- To deliver a presentation about the needs for revising the governing documents at each of the 2009 Regional Conferences.
- To present workshops and Info Fairs at the 2009 Regional Conferences and a workshop and information sessions at the 2010 International Convention.
- To prepare a proposed revision to the Constitution and International Standing Rules documents for the 2010 Convention.
- To accept and review proposed amendment forms for presentation to the Administrative Board.
- To review state organization by-laws.
- To collaborate closely with the Expansion Committee to provide support for developing by-laws for new state organizations and those state organizations that do not have current by-laws on file at International Headquarters.
- To make the governing documents more visible and accessible to the members, thereby educating members of the Society to the great freedoms of governance within the Society as well as the essence of the rules and other guiding documents.
- To communicate with the membership of the Society through articles in The Delta Kappa Gamma Society News, Presidents' Page, and the Society Web site.
