Constitution Committee

About the Committee

The Constitution committee receives proposals for amending the Constitution and the International Standing Rules, makes recommendations for changes to the Administrative Board, and presents approved proposals to the international convention for vote.
   Notification of proposed changes to the Constitution and the International Standing Rules must be published no later than the March/April issue of the DKG NEWS. 
   Following the international convention, the committee will confirm that the Constitution, International Standing Rules, and Handbook are in concordance. The parliamentarian serves as a consultant.

Committee Goals

1. To make a recommendation for the revisions of the Constitution and International Standing Rules.
2. To present workshops and Info Fairs at the 2011 Regional Conferences and a workshop and information sessions at the 2012 International Convention.
3. To accept and review proposed amendment forms for presentation to the Administraive Board.
4. To review state organization by-laws.
5. To collaborate closely with the Expansion Committee to provide support for developing by-laws for new state organizations and those state organizations that do not have current by-laws on file at International Headquarters.
6. To make the governing documents more visible and accessible to the members, thereby educating members of the Society to the great freedoms of governance within the Society as well as the essence of the rules and other guiding documents.
7. To communicate with the membership of the Society through articles in The Delta Kappa Gamma Society News, President's Page, and the Society Web site.
