About the Committee

Charged with responsibilities related to membership, this committee will study and make recommendations related to membership issues.  The committee will present training sessions for state organization membership chairs, recommend women for international honorary membership and present the international necrology ceremony.

Committee Goals

  1. Develop Membership Procedures Manual.
  2. Collaborate with the Leadership Development Committee to provide leadership, guidance, and support to states in working with struggling chapters.
  3. Plan membership chair training for Regional Conferences.
  4. Encourage chapters and states to develop an action plan to focus on increasing, maintaining diversifying, and reinstating members.
  5. Promote membership by updating the membership resources and make available on the Web site.
  6. Conduct a study of fifth-year members to obtain reasons why they have maintained their membership in the Society; collate and present report at the 2012 International Convention on the Society Web site.
  7. Celebrate State's and Chapter's Anniversary.
  8. Encourage chapters to contact former members at least once and invite them to consider reinstatement.
  9. Invite and initiate an International Honorary Member.
  10. Plan and Conduct the Celebration of Life at the 2012 International Convention.
  11. Communicate information to states and chapters.
