According to the 2001 Census, the population of the United Kingdom reached just under 59,000,000 people. English, the main language, differs in England to the English of America and Australia. Each area of Britain has its own way of speaking English with a variety of accents. Good manners are an important part of Britain’s culture. Using common words like please, thank you and excuse me are expected as is punctuality. A varied climate, Britain has warm summers and cool winters. July and August are normally the warmest months in England. Rain is common but the overall climate of the country is called temperature maritime, meaning the climate is damp and subject to frequent changes. May to June and September to October share pleasant temperatures and less rain and make excellent times of the year to visit. |
