International President – Dr. Beverly Helms
Dr. Beverly Helms has been selected as the nominee for the international presidency, the highest office of the Society. A speech pathologist and consultant, Helms lives in Bonifay, Florida. Her expertise and experiences at all levels of the Society, her team-building skills, organizational abilities, her dedication and strong communication capability qualify her to serve. She has distinguished herself in the Society through her work with strategic planning; regional training of officers, editors and webmasters; active conference and convention participation; and presenting workshops. The International Achievement Award was presented to her in 2010. Helms has been honored numerous times for her accomplishments in community and professional organizations.

 

International First Vice President – Dr. Barbara Baethe
Dr. Barbara Baethe, Texas, is the nominee for First Vice President. Currently the Southwest Regional Director, Baethe has been actively involved in Society roles, conferences, committees and workshops. She has served on nine state organization committees, as first vice president, second vice president and area coordinator. Internationally, she has been a member of five committees; attended 17 regional conferences and 10 international conventions. She has been a workshop presenter for regional conferences, international conventions and state organization area workshops.

International First Vice President – Carolyn H. Pittman
Carolyn Pittman, Arkansas, will be a floor nominee at the 2012 International Convention for International First Vice President. Pittman has been state president, first vice president, and editor, and is the 2008-2012 international member-at-large and chair of the administrative board Human Resources Committee. She has been Southeast Regional Director; co-chair of an international convention steering committee; and a regional conference steering committee. She presents at all levels of the Society. Pittman has chaired the Golden Gift Fund Committee and has been a member of other international committees.

International Second Vice President - Dr. Lynda B. Schmid
Northeast Regional Director, Dr. Lynda B. Schmid, Pennsylvania, is the nominee for Second Vice-President. Since 1995, Schmid has been an active member serving as state organization president, first vice president, second vice president, corresponding secretary, parliamentarian, and chair of four state committees. She has attended 10 regional conferences, nine in the northeast and one in the southeast and participated in eight international conventions. She received the Pennsylvania Achievement Award in 2009. She has presented workshops at international conventions, regional conferences and participated in four Info Fairs. As a member of the International Leadership Committee, she facilitated training for incoming state organization presidents.
