Vermont Eta Chapter
The Eta chapter team from Bennington, Vermont, consists of six Eta chapter members who work collaboratively to organize interesting and relevant chapter meetings, programs, and events. The 2020 Eta chapter theme was “Encouraging Thoughtful Action.” At each chapter meeting, one Eta team member was responsible for presenting a thought for the day. Another emphasized wellness and mindfulness and planned an interactive activity such as how to make bath salts.
This Eta chapter team is actively involved in their community by volunteering as a group, or as individuals, at the local food bank, visiting nursing homes, donating hats, mittens and scarves to local school children, and/or donating personal care items to the local homeless shelter. Additionally, the team reinforces the vision of making a difference by offering annual chapter scholarships to graduating high school seniors entering college in the field of education and recognizing local educators for their impact on education, for example.
Because the Eta chapter team has four members who currently serve at the DKG-VT Alpha state organization level (Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Membership Committee Chair and Nomination Committee member), there is a strong connection beyond the chapter level. As a result, the team works diligently to ensure their chapter members remain up-to-date on important Society information and on current issues. This team imparts a desire and willingness to help their local chapter move forward. These six dedicated women strive to keep all Eta chapter members engaged with meaningful and relevant activities designed to participate, help, and make a difference.
