2024 CONVENTION

 

The 2024 International Convention will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, U.S.A.  The Gaylord National Resort overlooks the Potomac River with waterfront terraces at its back door and the bustling town of National Harbor at its front.  From malls to boutiques, live entertainment to casinos, wine bars to restaurants, and ferry terminals to Ferris Wheels, National Harbor has whatever might be your interest. And, if you desire, take the short trip over the river to Washington D.C. and Alexandria, Virginia.  
Of course, the convention will also offer all the excitement you have come to expect and more:  enjoying keynote speakers, engaging in breakout sessions, networking with members, connecting with old friends, and using your member voice when you vote on proposed amendments to the Society’s governing documents.

Volunteer at the Convention!

Each member is also invited to engage in the convention events by becoming a volunteer. Sign-Up Genius will be utilized to offer members a variety of ways to be involved in the success of the convention;  Consider signing up to work at registration and meet new friends. Be a table decorator or hostess — or both. Share your smile as a hospitality volunteer or room monitor — or be willing to help wherever you are needed. Won’t you consider being a volunteer for the 2024 DKG International Convention?

The convention side of the DKG App will help attendees to stay up to date with the latest information and to interact with other registered attendees. The app itself will use the same protocols —including the login process — as it did in the 2022 Convention and 2023 Conferences. Available features will again allow members to view the agenda, post on the discussion board and the photo feed, view speaker information, and more! As we move toward convention and details are solidified, additional features and content will be made available on the app. Look for gamification opportunities, read the proposed amendments to prepare for voting, and interact with fellow attendees ahead of and while attending the convention!

Andre Bradford

Award-Winning Slam Poet | Author

  Keynote Speaker | Friday, July 12 Luncheon 


Andre Bradford, a.k.a. S.C. Says, is an Austin based slam poet who has been performing slam poetry since 2013. He's toured and featured at venues and universities across the country, and his work has been featured in the Huffington Post, Write About Now, The Edge radio, The Culture Trip, and Blavity. He is a two time Austin Poetry Slam Champion, the 2022 Texas Grand Slam Champion, and is the author of the poetry collection Golden Brown Skin. He also once popped a bag of popcorn without burning a single kernel, which is arguably one of his greatest achievements.  
His poetry covers a gamut of topics ranging from being mixed race, to social justice, to mental health awareness, to never settling in relationships. Slam poetry is an art form he loves due to its raw vulnerability and its ability to cultivate transparency and dialogues into many different walks of life.

Days can be purchased individually or as a full package with a discount reflected in the package price.

Ticket Prices:
Due to the new fee structure in place for this convention, there will be no registrations sold after July 2, 2024

- 1 Day Registration: $175 per day
- 2 Day Registration: $350
- 3 Day Registration: $525
- Member Full Registration (Tues-Sat): $575

Collegiate Registration:
- 1 Day Registration: $125 per day
- 2 Day Registration: $250
- 3 Day Registration: $375
- Collegiate Full Registration (Tues-Sat): $400

Non-Member Registration:
- 1 Day Registration: $200 per day
- 2 Day Registration: $400

NEW GUEST POLICY: All guests should register as non-members for full access to convention events.
Requests for exceptions by members requiring assistance of a medical companion should be made in writing to nitas@dkg.org.

PRICES:
$177 per night plus a $22 daily resort fee (taxes not included)

The daily resort fee includes several in room amenities, such as high-speed internet in guest rooms, bottled water, access to the fitness center and indoor pool,
a coupon book with valued savings of over $100, and National Harbor bus transportation to locations through-out National Harbor.

Self-parking fees are 20% off the published rate (currently the published rate is $36 per day). 

The group rates are available 3 days pre/post-convention for those wanting to arrive early or stay late.

NOTE: The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center has transitioned into a cashless system.
Credit cards and mobile payments will be the exclusive form of payment at all resort facilities, including the front desk, dining venues, retail outlets, spa, and parking areas.
Hotel guests can conveniently convert cash into a card from $20-$500 free of charge at the Cash-to-Card kiosks situated in the front lobby adjacent to the Celebrity Services Office.
