Hello from Finland!
“Moving
Forward with Vitality, Relevance, and Sustainability in Our Changing World”
The DKG International Conference in Tampere, Finland, will open on Wednesday, July 26, at Tampere Hall,
a culture and conference center located in the heart of the third largest city in Finland.
The opening ceremony
and first general session will follow a presentation on the DKG app and technology and a first timers’ meeting.
Attendees will then transfer by bus to the Vaprikki Museum for the Tampere City Reception. A walking tour by
the river will be a unique option! The second general session will kick off a day of workshops and Expo visits on Thursday, July 27. The
Celebrating Europe Luncheon will be a highlight, and attendees may have the opportunity to visit privately, at a
reduced price, the Moomin Museum, which is in the same building complex. A ticketed Night at the Parc will
conclude the day. Workshops will continue on Friday, July 28, after the third general session opens the day. During the morning
break, participants will have an opportunity to network with colleagues from different countries who teach the
same subject. The afternoon will bring shopping time and the possibility of group pictures, while the evening will feature a cash bar and Grand Dinner at Tampere Hall.
On the final day of the conference, Saturday, July 29, the various forums of DKG will meet in the morning.
The fourth general session will end with the closing ceremony for the overall conference, and attendees will bid
farewell at a luncheon. For some, the journey on a Go Ahead Tour, Finland and Estonia Experience, will begin!
